The aims of this study were: investigate the effect of acute short-term undermutrition on weight ovary, preantral follicular population in situ and on method efficiency for preantral follicle isolation in goat. For this, 16 goats were submitted to High (n=8) or Low (n=8) nutrition. Goats in Low group showed a marked atrophy ( of ovary with reduction of their weight. The number of isolated follicles was statistical/y similar between groups. In conclusion, a large number of preantral follicles can be isolated from ovaries of adult goat submitted to severe undermutrition. Moreover we showed that preantral follicular population as well as weight ovary of these animals were markedly altered by nutritional treatment. |
